Fate is funny sometimes. Jake is Nikki's brother and he joined our family on January 12, 2008.

Jake and Nikki were rescued from the shelter when they were just 8 weeks old. By the time they were ready to be placed in their new homes, Jake had one lined up and Nikki didn't. Nikki eneded up staying with us and Jake has spent the last eight years as a spoiled pet.

My friend that initially rescued the pups found out that Jake was in need of a new home. His owner is facing a very serious medical condition and made the heartbreaking decision to find him a new home. There was no way we were going to let anything happen to this boy!

I have always preferred the males, but since losing my one and only boy I just haven't been able to bring myself to getting another one. I really think Nikki had her paw in on Jake finding his way to us.
